Holiday Sangria
Serves 6-8
1 bottle red wine, like pinot noir or zinfandel
1 botte sparkling apple cider
1 cup apple brandy
1⁄4 c simple syrup
2 c cranberries
1 orange, sliced
1 apple, cored and diced
2-3 cinnamon sticks
5-6 star anise pods
Sprigs of rosemary, for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Stir to mix then refrigerate until chilled, or even better, overnight. Serve over ice. Garnish with rosemary sprigs.
